PHILIP DELAMERE
Philip Delamere studied sculpture at Limerick School of Art & Design from 1989 to 1994 following which he worked as a visual artist, street theatre director, theatre designer and arts organiser. He became County Arts Officer with Roscommon County Council in 2000 and has been Arts Officer with Leitrim County Council since 2011.
As Local Authority Arts Officer he is responsible for devising and implementing policy, plans and programmes for arts development and has developed among other projects, Roscommon County Youth Orchestra; Roscommon Traditional Arts Forum; Art@work; Roscommon County Youth Theatre, the TRADE, LOCIS and SPARK artist in residence programmes; and Creative Frame professional development network and programme.
He has worked with the Education, Audiovisual and Culture Executive Agency at the European Commission as Expert and Lead Expert since 2010, where he has assessed programme applications and provided oversight of assessment processes for the Creative Europe programme. He currently serves on the Board of The Dock and has previously served on the Board of Create, the national development agency for collaborative arts and the Board of Governors of Institute of Technology, Sligo (now Atlantic Technical University) where he was Chair of the University’s Audit and Risk Committee from 2014 to 2018.
